Nikoletta Serfőző:Creative Thinking, Tangible Results, and a 19-Year Professional Journey at Audi Hungaria #OnThisDay

Exactly 19 years ago today, Serfőző Nikoletta joined our company. Throughout the years, she has played an active role in the realization of numerous projects and initiatives through her professional expertise, creative mindset, and dedication. The establishment and daily operation of the Motor Production Training Center, as well as the digiPlant and Lean Escape Room projects, clearly demonstrate that she not only excels in her daily responsibilities but also actively contributes to innovative ideas and community-building initiatives.

When did you join Audi Hungaria?

Exactly 19 years ago. 

What is the name of the area where you work?

I work in the Audi Production System department as an APS Coordinator and Specialist.

Could you briefly describe your responsibilities?

At the Training Center of the Engine Production, I am responsible for training lean-based production methods, supporting continuous improvement projects, and enhancing process efficiency. My coordination activities also include knowledge transfer and strengthening cross-segment collaboration in training-related matters.

What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of Audi Hungaria?

Development. For me, Audi Hungaria represents continuous learning and new opportunities. I started as an intern and, over the years, became an APS Coordinator and Specialist. My professional journey has always been about growth, seeking new challenges, and continuous renewal, which is why development is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Audi.

What was your first day like?

Exciting and inspiring. From day one, I felt that I was entering a company where knowledge, innovation, and development play a central role.

What has been the most memorable moment during your time here?

It is difficult to highlight just one moment, as I have had the opportunity to participate in many projects that have been defining experiences both professionally and personally.

In 2015, I served as a project coordinator for the creation and inauguration of the 1,200 m² Training Center of the Engine Production. Guided by the philosophy, “As soon as you enter, you can start learning!”, we created a modern training environment where Audi Hungaria employees can learn motor production processes using real products and specialized training equipment. I am proud that approximately 24,000 employees have participated in engine-specific training programs here over the past 15 years.

Another particularly memorable achievement was the development of the e-tron training programs and the support provided for the introduction of new engine generations. It was rewarding to see ideas become reality in practice: concepts evolved into effective training programs, and those programs helped develop knowledgeable and confident colleagues.

This year also brought several important milestones. One of them was the creation of the Lean Escape Room concept together with colleagues from Volkswagen Hannover. The initiative introduces lean thinking to participants in an engaging and interactive way. I am especially proud that in July 2026, I had the opportunity to present the concept personally to the professional community at the international meeting of Volkswagen Group Lean leaders in Hannover. For me, this was not only a successful project presentation, but also proof that ideas and innovative solutions developed at Audi Hungaria create value beyond the company itself.

Perhaps these are the moments that stand out most in my memory: when learning, collaboration, and innovation come together, and the work invested turns into tangible results.

What has been your greatest success?

The development of training and improvement methodologies, as well as the opportunity to contribute to the professional development of employees over many years. As an APS Coordinator, Lean Trainer, and participant in various improvement projects, my goal has always been to make learning and continuous improvement an integral part of everyday operations.

An important milestone in my career was also obtaining internationally recognized project management certifications. I first earned the IPMA Level D certification (Certified Project Management Associate), followed by the IPMA Level C certification (Certified Project Manager), which further strengthened my project leadership and collaboration skills. These certifications are not only professional achievements for me, but also confirmations of my belief that continuous learning and development always open new opportunities.

I am also particularly proud to have participated as a founding member in the creation of digiPlant. Established in 2023, digiPlant is Audi Hungaria’s innovation and research-and-development workshop, uniquely connecting experts from various fields, ranging from IT and production to production planning. Together, we work on complex challenges that require the coordinated expertise of multiple disciplines, where collaborative thinking quickly leads to tangible solutions, prototypes, and new ideas.

For me, the success of digiPlant is measured not only by the projects completed, but also by the collaborative culture we have built, one that strengthens knowledge sharing, agility, creativity, and cooperation across the company.

This perfectly reflects what I have always believed: the best results emerge when different perspectives and areas of expertise come together in pursuit of a common goal.

Why did you choose Audi Hungaria? Why would you recommend it to others?

Since childhood, it has been my dream to become part of the Audi Hungaria team, so it is especially meaningful to me that I was able to start my career here as an intern. I have remained with the company because it continuously offers new challenges, opportunities for growth, and a supportive community.

I would recommend Audi Hungaria to anyone who wants to work in an innovative environment where ideas and initiative create real value.

What are you most proud of?

I am proud that over nearly two decades, I have had the opportunity to participate in numerous projects as a project manager or key contributor, while maintaining a positive mindset and a strong belief in teamwork throughout.

I am also proud to have actively contributed to the creation of the Training Center of the Engine Production in Győr. I was involved not only in building a modern training environment, but also in developing a training structure that is unique within the Group. Based on more than twenty years of professional experience, I consider this to be the most significant and personally meaningful project of my career.
