We visited the Formula Student team of Széchenyi István University, the Arrabona Racing Team, which was founded in 2014. The association, which brings together nearly 60 talented engineering students, gave us an insight into their work and showed us the developments they are preparing for the 2025 racing season, now in the electric category.
Széchenyi István University hosts three associations of talented engineering students, which our company, Audi Hungaria, also supports and sponsors. Besides the fact that we owe many engineer colleagues and interns to these teams, they achieve increasingly impressive results year after year, not only on the Hungarian stage but also on the international scene.
This time we visited the lab of the Arrabona Racing Team, where we were welcomed by Szilárd Bariska, the team leader. Among other things, we learned why the team needs to manufacture a new race car every year and what prompted the transformation towards electric propulsion.
In addition to the presented electronics and simulation departments, we also discussed the selection of racing drivers, the construction of the new drive system, and the overall weight of the vehicle.
