Production of the new Audi Q3 starts in Győr

Győr, 10 July 2025 - Audi Hungaria has been producing the second generation of the compact premium SUV since 2018. A few months ago, the one millionth vehicle rolled off the production line, and after its world premiere in June, the third generation is now entering series production. A few minutes ago, the first vehicle—a sage green Q3—came off the assembly line.

Audi celebrated the world premiere of the new Audi Q3 in mid-June. With more than 25 years of experience, Audi Hungaria’s vehicle factory starts series production of this popular model. This strengthens the company’s leading role in the Hungarian automotive industry.

“Audi Hungaria creates added value for its customers with attractive and desirable products and services. The Audi Q3 has been an important product in our portfolio on the site since 2018,” said Michael Breme, Chairman of the Board of Audi Hungaria.

Audi Hungaria held a festive celebration for the start of the series production. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán, representatives of the city of Győr, and the management and production employees of Audi Hungaria.

“With the production of the new model, we ensure a high production volume for the vehicle factory. I am proud of our employees who have accompanied the ramp-up of the Audi Q3 production with their dedication to the model and their many years of professional experience,” said Zoltán Les, Member of the Board of Audi Hungaria responsible for Vehicle Production.

The third generation Audi Q3 sets new standards in the A-segment. The new Q3 is a logical evolution of the previous successful model, and for many it represents an entry point into the premium Audi brand. The new Audi Q3 also features an efficient and partly electric combustion engine and a plug-in hybrid powertrain with an electric range of up to 119 kilometres—some of these are also produced in Győr. The market launch is planned for this autumn.

The Audi Q3 has always been a very popular model in the Audi portfolio. Accordingly, the four-ring company is expecting strong demand for the new generation, which is why it is planning to co-produce the new generation with the Ingolstadt plant in addition to the Győr plant. For this extra volume, the body parts will also be made in Győr, and painted and assembled in Germany.

The Audi Q3 is the sixth model produced in Győr, on the same production lines that once produced the Audi A3 Limousine and Cabriolet, and the already legendary Audi TT Coupé and Roadster. In addition to the new Q3, Audi Hungaria has been producing the CUPRA Terramar model since last autumn, making Győr one of the most flexible assembly plants in the Audi Group.

With more than 30 years of experience in powertrain production and 25 years of vehicle manufacturing, Audi Hungaria is one of the leaders in the Hungarian automotive industry and an important pillar of the Audi and VW Groups.
