Pál Arnold Akács: In the Language of Machines – Maintenance Up Close #OnThisDay

2025. 08. 13.

On August 13, Pál Arnold Akács celebrates his 18th anniversary at Audi Hungaria. He currently works as a maintenance technician on the crankshaft production line. He supports uninterrupted production both electrically and mechanically, seeing every challenge as an opportunity for growth. His dedication, systems thinking, and openness serve as an inspiring example.

How do you remember your first day at Audi Hungaria?

My first day was truly exciting! As I walked through the factory gates, I immediately felt the professionalism and dynamism that still characterize this environment. My colleagues were very friendly and helped me find my way around the plant and in my new role. The first day was mostly about getting to know people, but I already knew: I was in the right place. Since then, I’ve been doing my job with joy and pride to be part of this team.

When and how did your professional journey at the company begin?

I joined Audi Hungaria in 2007, initially as a machine operator on the V6 FSI block machining line. Over the years, I gained insight into several areas: I worked in cylinder head machining and later, driven by professional interest and a desire to grow, I moved to crankshaft production, where I still work today. This transition gave me the opportunity to acquire deeper technical knowledge and face new challenges. Meanwhile, I continuously developed myself: I earned a mechanical technician qualification at the industrial school in Komárom, and in February 2025, I successfully completed electrician training through a study contract with the company. Today, I work as a maintenance technician, supporting production availability both mechanically and electrically.

What are you most proud of in your work?

That I can solve problems quickly and efficiently, and that my colleagues in production are satisfied with my work. Maintenance is much more than it seems at first glance – you have to think in complex systems, make immediate decisions, all at the highest technical level. It feels good to know that people count on me and trust my professional knowledge.

Was there an experience that particularly shaped your professional perspective?

I was fortunate to gain temporary insight into the responsibilities of a shift leader. This gave me the opportunity to see not only my own work but the entire production process. I experienced what kinds of decisions need to be made daily and how different situations can be approached in different ways. This experience helped me work more consciously and think in terms of interconnections.

What does change mean to you in your daily work?

For me, change is not an obstacle but an opportunity. I’ve learned to adapt to new technologies and processes – because that’s the only constant. Flexibility, willingness to learn, and commitment are key in maintenance.

Why did you choose Audi Hungaria, and why would you recommend it to others?

I’ve always been a big fan of the Audi brand and the quality of German engineering. When I had the opportunity to join, I immediately knew this was the place for me. Audi Hungaria is a workplace where you can not only work but also continuously learn, grow, and advance. If you love machines, think in systems, and seek challenges, you’ll find your place here.

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Audi Hungaria?

Heartbeat – because even in my own car, a heart from Győr beats!

In his everyday life, Pál works as a maintenance technician at Audi Hungaria, where his precision and craftsmanship deliver tangible results every day. On weekends, however, he shows a completely different side: as a DJ, he unleashes his creative energy, recharging himself and others. After placing second in the national DJ competition in 2014, he started his own business, where music and connecting with the audience offer a new form of expression – completing the rhythm of the week.
