Environmental Policy – We for the future

AUDI AG’s profile is the development, manufacture and sale of cars all over the world. The company is purposed to ensure people’s individual mobility. At the same time, apart from taking economic and technical aspects into consideration, it undertakes responsibility for the continuous improvement of the environmentally friendly nature of products and production locations, as well as for the environmentally friendly management of natural resources. AUDI AG ensures that advanced technologies become available all over the world, and make their utilisation possible throughout the entire production chain. At each site, the company is a partner for society and politics, and in this way it contributes to the positive social and ecological development in the long run.

A modern enterprise must acknowledge environmental protection as a strategic factor of production. In the most recent phase of industrial competition, society shows increasing sensitivity towards environmental protection. The focus of interest is directed towards the technical solutions that lead to material and energy savings together with decreasing pollutant emissions.

In future’s engineering practice, the requirement for maintaining the ecological balance, the sparing use of raw materials and the demand for a healthy working and living environment will strengthen.

AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft, as a significant player of economy, takes charge of these challenges. With its environmental activities, it takes a hand in the conservation of environment, natural resources and human health. To achieve its goals, the involvement of technical knowledge, the creativity and motivation of our colleagues are indispensable.

The environmental guiding principles drawn up in the following will outline the environmental philosophy of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft.

Guiding principles

• 1. AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft produces engines and cars of great value that equally comply with the demands of customers and the aspects of environmental load, economicalness, safety, quality and comfort.
• 2. Research and development are part of the environmental policy of AUDI. They develop ecologically efficient processes for the products of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft, and so improve AUDI’s its international competivie edge.
• 3. AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft is expressly purposed to assess and prevent the harmful impacts exerted to the environment in all fields of activity. Accordingly, compliance with environmental regulations goes without saying.
• 4.The environmental management of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft – together with its supplier companies, service-providers, commercial partners and waste disposal companies – ensures the continuous improvement of the environmentally friendly nature of its cars and manufacturing sites.
• 5. The Management of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft takes responsibility for adherence to the guiding principles of the Environmental Policy as well as the operability of the environmental management system. From the aspects of suitability and practicability, the environmental management system and the Environmental Policy are regularly reviewed and, if necessary, updated.
• 6. The open and frank dialogue with customers, traders and the public is quite obvious for AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR. The company works in close cooperation with politics and authorities, which includes the prevention and removal of emergency situations.
• 7. AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft informs, trains and motivates all colleagues according to their environmental function, so facilitating the formation of their environmental awareness of responsibility. The colleagues are committed to these principles.
• 8. This Environmental Policy is obligatory for AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft, completed and made specific with the formulation of the main environmental guidelines specific for the given site.

The environmental goals of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft

In order to make more specific the guiding principles laid down in the Environmental Policy and in order to transplant them into practice, AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft formulated environmental goals. The environmental goals reflect the priorities that emerged from the analysis of the company’s environmental factors and impacts as well as the creed laid down in the Environmental Policy. The environmental goals are broken down in detail in the Comprehensive Environmental Programme and in the Area-Specific Environmental Programmes.

The environmental goals of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft:

• 1. Increasing the environmental performance of the waste management sector.
• 2. Increasing energy efficiency.
• 3. Increasing the efficiency of the protection of surface and undersurface waters.
• 4. Reducing environmental loads arising from logistics.
• 5. Increasing the efficiency of the protection of air as environmental element.
• 6. Increasing the efficiency of the environmental management system.
• 7. Managing the corporate social responsibility strategy.

Environmental goals will be reviewed concerning their validity and suitability during internal audits and appraisals by the Management, and then admended as necessary.
